Krister Axel deserves some FM airplay instead of the same crap we’re always getting served… I also have a soft spot in my heart for his voice which sounds like no one else. Let’s just say that he delivers an excellent first opus which we would all do well to discover and put right next to Mofro in the house jukebox. – eric boisson (ericNRoll.com)

when I am sad I put this cd on. His voice seems to sand off my edges. I love it.

I gave it to one of my friends at his request for a birthday present. He said that it hasn’t left his truck and he listens to it all the time!! Definitely amongst one of his favorite CD’s!

I saw Krister this summer, and bought his stuff… Permanent Friday Night has been in my car for honestly I think 6 months. I love it.

5 out of 5 stars sweet oaky roots
Reviewer: Papillon Jones – Maximum Ink   (click for website)
Ex-Madison native Krister Axel puts his line in the sand… no over-slick production, no samples, just sweet snakey roots like an oak tree in Georgia and lyrics to melt you heart: ‘Even if tomorrow comes, I’ll be around / to prop you up when you come down’.

This album has more soul in the first song than most of the music on the radio today. Buy this album if you loved David Gray before ‘White Ladders’, or if you love real music when you hear it. The voice on this guy alone sets this album apart from a lot of the music people call Roots these days. A true original.

5 out of 5 stars Spectacular Purchase
Reviewer: Kyle Schlabowske
I wanted this CD about 2 months ago but it was out of stock. I finally bought it about 2 weeks ago and I am extremely happy to say that it is one of the best CDs I own. Krister Axel is probably one of my newly found favorite artists. I am so excited about this CD.

 outstanding

Outstanding…It’s got soul and groove, grit and melancholy and beauty. It’ll make you cry while you’re shaking your ass.

4 out of 5 stars refreshing, something for everyone, outta site!

I saw Mr. Axels show a month or so ago, he was solo and it
was deffinetly one of the most inovative performances that I had seen in quite sometime. After the show I purchased a copy of Perm Fri night, got home and to my suprise found that there is a phat band backing up the cool smoothe vocals, and killer keys. Theres something there for everyone. If you like Dave Matthews, Van morrison, Ray Charles, or just good quality music and songwriting then this album is a must.
